Pazuzu Power
The Exorcist: Believer (2023) revives one of the greatest horror movies of all time. Heads are turned, crucifixes are flung, holy water sizzles and teenage girls speak in the gravelly voice of an unrepentant chain-smoker. But is this movie anywhere nearly as bad as some critics would have you believe? And why is there no green pea soup spew? Jason and Ali consider these and other burning questions.

Found Footage Fiends
Do you love or do you despise The Outwaters (2022)? Why are found footage horror films so divisive? In this episode, Jason and Ali follow a group of artsy thirtysomethings who come to a very sticky end in the Mojave Desert.

Clothes that Kill
Can a dress be demonic? Should you be scared of your jeans? Definitely. In this episode, Jason and Ali talk about two excellent examples of sartorial horror, In Fabric (2018) and Slaxx (2020).

The Number of the Beast
Do you have a strange birthmark? Does it look like three sixes? We hope not. In this episode, Jason and Ali will talk about the Antichrist, rottweilers and the classic movie with a creepy child, The Omen (1976).

Science and Terror in Outer Space
The 1997 movie Event Horizon perplexed moviegoers upon release but has since become a cult favourite. In this episode, Jason and Ali put on their spacesuits and travel to the uncharted realms where the adventurous crew of a futuristic spaceship come face to face with absolute, unhinged evil.

Peck or Perish: The Birds and Ornithological Horror
Are birds terrifying? Will their different species one day unite to exterminate us? Apparently so, according to Alfred Hitchcock's classic creature feature The Birds (1963) and Daphne du Maurier's short story (1952) which inspired the film. In this episode, Jason and Ali talk about the real-life terrors of getting pooped on and swooped by birds, as well as the feathered furies of the horror genre.

Who Dooked Up the House?
In this episode, Ali and Jason discover their capacity to tolerate the glass-shattering screams of a gaslit child. They also do their best to enter the emotional world of a single mother trying her hardest not to succumb to the demons that threaten to tear apart an already fractured and fragile family unit. We find that neither in a word, nor in a book, are we able to escape The Babadook (2014).

Pumpkins and Other Demons of Vengeance
How far would you go to seek retribution if you've been horribly wronged? Would you seek out a witch called Haggis, dig up the skeleton of a terrifying demon from a pumpkin-patch graveyard, and watch it turn into one of the most memorable monsters of horror cinema? Well, that's exactly what you'd do if you were the traumatised hero Ed from the brilliant 1988 cult classic, Pumpkinhead.

Maritime Menace: Dracula on the Demeter
In this episode, Jason and Ali put on their life jackets and talk about the latest Dracula movie, The Last Voyage of the Demeter (2023). Does this film's fusion of vampiric horror and nautical adventure work? Do you get seasick? And why does the Transylvanian monster need to travel to England, anyway?

Kids these days! On Demonic Dancing Teens

Woof! Cujo, the Killer Canine
In this episode Jason and Ali hide from one of the most terrifying monsters of horror cinema, the rabid St Bernard of Cujo (1983). Based on a Stephen King novel, this movie has it all: adultery, alcoholism, breakfast cereals and loads of terror. It is also one of the greatest creature features of all time.

Lights, Camera, Slash!
Jason and Ali mark the 13th episode of the podcast by revisiting the seminal slasher films Friday the 13th (1980) and Friday the 13th Part 2 (1981). Would you stay at a summer camp with a very sinister backstory? Were Pamela and Jason Voorhees anywhere near as brutal as the posh film critics who tried to shut down the films?

Talk to Me, or the Terrors of Personal Trauma
Can kangaroos be creepy? Would you attend a séance and hold the severed hand of a shady shaman? In this episode, Jason and Ali talk about the terrific new Australian film, Danny and Michael Philippou's Talk to Me (2022) and talk to you about trauma, teenage daredevilry and celebrity YouTubers.

Hellraiser, or the Horrible Pains of a Puzzle Box
What do you get if you cross a Rubik's Cube with malignant demonic entities such as a follically-challenged dude with nails in his head? You get Clive Barker's classic 1987 film Hellraiser, that's what. In this episode Jason and Ali discuss the hugely influential movie, its first sequel Hellbound: Hellraiser II (1988), as well as Barker's brilliant novella The Hellbound Heart (1986).

Audition: Fear and Loathing in Tokyo
In this episode, Jason and Ali talk about dating, love and, naturally, torture porn. Was Takashi Miike's cult film Audition/『オーディション』 (1999) the first movie to tantalise audiences with meticulously staged scenes of slow burning sadism? Is loneliness the spirit that haunts so much contemporary Japanese horror and our lives everywhere?

Raw, Titane, and the New French Extremity
Are vegetarians closet cannibals? If you were to copulate with a car, what car would it be? These are among the many pressing questions that Jason and Ali ponder as they discuss the brilliant and brilliantly unnerving movies of Julia Ducournau, Grave/Raw (2012) and Titane/Titanium (2021).

Dracula and the Dangers of Doomed Love
In this episode Jason and Ali enter the castle of Vlad the vampire count via Bram Stocker's novel (1897) and Francis Ford Coppola's stylish adaptation (1992). Why are we attracted to a Romanian emo with boofy hair? Is Tom Waits not the greatest Renfield ever? Was Princess Elisabeta of Transylvania the first known victim of fake news?

Amityville: Homeownership and the Horrors of Hairy Men
Do you believe in haunted houses? What do James Brolin's hair and Ryan Reynold's abs bring to the enduring franchise? In this episode, Jason and Ali talk about Candyman (1992), Candyman (2021), and 'The Forbidden', the short story that inspired the movies. They'll discuss urban geography, police brutality, and the evils of participatory art.
